TPCC wants KCR to sack power minister
- Corrupt practices allegations against Jagdish Reddy
Hyderabad: Demanding the immediate dismissal of Telangana Power Minister G Jagdish Reddy from the Cabinet for his alleged corrupt practices, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has charged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and IT Minister K T Rama Rao with shielding ‘corrupt ministers’.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, TPCC leaders Addanki Dayakar, Bellaiah Naik and Sudhakar Goud alleged that Jagdish Reddy was involved in fees reimbursement scam. They said in Suryapet, Jagdish Reddy’s close follower Santhosh has collected over Rs 60 lakh from unemployed youth with the support of the minister. Finding fault with TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar’s statement that Jagdish Reddy has no links with Santhosh, the Congress leaders said they have irrefutable evidence to prove their charge and displayed photos.
The Congress leaders also alleged that irregularities took place in Yadadri Power Plant recruitment. Bellaiah Naik alleged rampant corruption in the TRS government since beginning. The state government failed to take action against those who faced allegations after the Nayeem encounter. Reiterating that Jagdish Reddy had collected money in the name of providing employment, he said the TRS leaders were supporting Jagdish Reddy instead of initiating action against the minister.
