TNSF leaders storm Ministers Quarters
Delay in fees reimbursement
Hyderabad: Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF), a student wing of Telugu Desam Party, stormed the Ministers Quarters in Hyderabad on Saturday demanding immediate release of fees reimbursement pending for the last four months.
Led by its president Chiluka Madhusudhan Reddy, 52 youth leaders staged a protest. They set a week’s deadline for the TRS government to release the fees reimbursement arrears totaling Rs 2,090 crores and warned if the amount was not released by that time, they would resort to an agitation.
The TRS Government is playing with the lives of 14 lakh students in the state, Madhusudhan Reddy said, adding SC, ST, BC and minority community students are suffering and are unable to continue their education. Police arrested the agitating student leaders and bused them to a police station.
Earlier, Madhusudhan Reddy said that the TRS Government which came to power with student support is ignoring their interests. He accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of making a deliberate attempt to harass the students by denying them fees reimbursement. KCR should keep his promise made in the last Assembly session to release fees reimbursement funds, he said.
Among the student leaders present were: S Prasad, Ravinder, Santhosh Naik, Greater Hyderabad wing president G Raghu Kiran, Sharath Chandra.
