TN Telugu youth demand AP govt. to take over Potti Sriramulu Bhavan in Chennai
Hyderabad: Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuvasakti would organize a protest dharna at Amaravati, capital of Andhra Pradesh, on December 4 demanding the government to take control of Potti Sriramulu Memorial Bhavan in Tamil Nadu.
Yuvasakhi president Ketireddy Jagdishwar Reddy in a statement said that they are organizing a demonstration in support of their demands in Amaravati.
Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuvasakti urged the AP government to abolish the working committee of the memorial and conduct new election for the committee, Jagdishwar Reddy said and alleged irregularities in the elections conducted for the existing committee.
Potti Sriramulu Memoraial Bhavan is in Mylapore near Rayapet Highway in Chennai. Jagdishwar Reddy alleged that some unscrupulous persons have usurped the building and the AP government should take control of this historical building.
Yuvasakti’s other demands include bringing a law to celebrate Potti Sriramulu jayanti across the state officially, installation of his statue in Amaravati and issue of a G O renaming Nellore district as Potti Sriramulu district. -NSS
