Time For Jagan To Wake Up

There is an impression that the opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in AP is unable to capitalise on the failures of the TDP Government.

Hyderabad: Hardly two years are left for the next General Elections and opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy is failing miserably in utilising opportunities coming in front of him.

Naidu who has been leading the TDP for 22 years with an iron hand appears to be losing grip as open revolts by senior party leaders has become the order of the day. Recent Cabinet reshuffle gave way to dissidents which could not be grabbed by Jagan, a perfect chance for him which was utilised by previous leaders like his father or the ruling party TDP earlier. He also failed in cornering TDP MPs during debate on Spl category status in RS recently though his MPs tried hard in raising voice. In both the Houses. His muted response is paving way for the TDP to be able to.

Weakness of opposition is a big strength to any ruling party at State or Center. which is clearly visible at present scenario across Telugu states.

Before cadre gets disappointed, it is time for Jagan to wake up and gear up for elections. The only question is will he?

All eyes will be on Nandyal by-elections which will take place in soon. Win will certainly boost party and its supporters who are on defensive situation after recent MLC elections and Gudivada Muncipal elections.

Set Back To Jagan In Nandigama Case

The High Court on Tuesday refused to quash the case filed against Jagan, but, asked him to file a petition after the investigation is completed.

Hyderabad: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy faced another setback in the High Court. The leader approached the court seeking quashing of the case filed against him in Nandigama during the accident to Diwakar travels.

The High Court refused to entertain the quash petition filed by Jagan on Tuesday.

The YSRCP leader went to Nandigam hospital when the bus accident took place in Krishna district. In this context, the Hospital Development Committee chairman complained to the police against Jagan that he allegedly behaved highhandedly with officials and doctors. Jagan filed a quash petition in the High Court in April.

His counsel argued that Jagan did not commit any crime and the police filed a case unlawfully. However, the advocate arguing for the police said that they have filed a case basing on a complaint and the investigation is still continuing.

After hearing both sides, the High Court said that it cannot order to quash the case. It directed Jagan to file a petition after the investigation is completed.

Jagan Plus Pawan, Major Changes in AP Political Scenario?

AP political scenario is heading towards Mahagatbandhan as in UP to defeat ruling party TDP as per political sources. If it is true how will it impact the TDP in coming elections.

Hyderabad: There are rumours about YSRCP roping in political analyst Prashanth Kishore (PK) for a strategy planning and implementation to defeat TDP in coming elections. Now as per sources, Prashant Kishore gave a report on the present scenario in AP politics to YSRCP.

As per the report, if YSRCP wants to come to power, it should join hands with all leading opposition parties in AP as it happened in Bihar in recent elections which helped Nitish Kumar to continue as the CM.

If opposition parties are not united on a single platform, it will benefit TDP with the split of anti-incumbency votes as per the report given by Prashanth Kishore.

Primepost.in Survey: If we keep Prashanth Kishore’s report aside, as per our sources, the assessment appears to be near the reality if opposition parties contest on their own benefitting TDP. Same thing happened in 2009 elections when TRS, TDP, CPI, CPM contested on united front against late YSR. Result is YSR bagged maximum MP and MLA seats than his previous victory; weapon is only one thing, split in anti-incumbency votes.

Jana Sena which already announced that it will contest in 2019 elections can make an impact with a mere 3% votes split. We should not forget the margin of votes made TDP to gain power in 2014 elections was far less.

People are angry with the BJP for cheating them in the case of Special Category Status and Congress is yet to recover from the deadly blow delivered by the voters in 2014. At this juncture the only hope for YSRCP is to unite all the opposition parties which looks difficult at this juncture. This is the only advantage Naidu is having irrespective of anti m-incumbency against him in AP.

Will Pawan join hands with Jagan? This is a big doubt in the minds of political analysts. Pawan, who has craze in youth vote bank criticised Jagan several times and competed with him in organising various rallies against TDP. Pawan, recently announced support for the Congress on SCS, in fact he also extended support to the YSRCP at one time on the same SCS. But Pawan’s mentality and route is separate and he is keen on allying with Communist parties. Even in Communist parties, opinion on Pawan is divided. CPI is having soft corner for Jana Sena but CPI(M) did not utter a word until now on joining hands with him.

At the same time the CPI is distancing itself from YSRCP after Jagan met Modi. Prashant Kishore’s strategy also did not give positive result in UP elections which resulted in BJP’s huge gain.

But if Pawan and Jagan join hands, it will be a gain to opposition parties and a big blow for TDP. In politics anything can happen at the end of the day and if opposition parties want to sit treasury benches, the only option they have is to unite.

Kala’s Open Letter To Jagan On Meeting Modi

AP TDP president Kala Venkatarao wrote an open letter to YSR Congress chief Jagan asking him to reveal the agenda behind his meeting with PM Modi.

Amaravati: Telugu Desam AP unit president and Minister for Energy, K Kala Venkata Rao, on Saturday wrote an open letter to YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy asking him to reveal the agenda behind his meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The TDP chief wanted to know why Jagan had visited Delhi keeping his appointment with Modi as secret till the last minute. He also wanted to know if the memorandum that was released to the media after the meeting was actually submitted to the Prime Minister or not. He wanted to know why the issue of special category status was at the end of the note and not in the beginning if the YSR Congress was fighting for it. He also sought to remind Jagan of the promise to make all YSR Congress MPs to resign on the special category status demand. He wondered how Jagan could support the NDA in the Presidential elections if its MPs quit their posts.

Drawing comparison between Jagan and Vijay Mallya, the TDP leader alleged that half of the corruption cases against Jagan were proved as all his properties were already attached. He wondered how an economic criminal could meet the Prime Minister but for his MLA post. He also wanted to know whether the Prime Minister had asked for the YSR Congress support for the Presidential elections. If not, what made Jagan to announce it if it was not to save himself from the CBI cases.

The TDP chief pooh-poohed Jagan’s claims on the special category status and his party’s commitment to the issue as being claimed. He felt that Jagan had exposed his sincerity in politics and to special category status demand in his visit to the national capital and maintained that people would not take him seriously henceforth.

Fans Are Fans, Jagan Has An Experience

Fans are fans. They have no reason or rhyme. They adore their hero or leader and undergo any hardship to meet them. 12-year old Prasad of Kurnool district is one such, a diehard admirer of YSRCP chief Jagan.

Hyderabad: We have seen mad fans for film celebrities and cricket players in the past. Here is another story of a kid who ran away from his house to meet his favourite politician.

A 12 year kid, named Prasad, from Muddavaram village of Bethamcherla mandal in Kurnool district is a hard core fan of YSRC President YS jagan. Prasad ran away from his house to meet his favourite leader and reached Hyderabad. He went on asking everyone about Jagan’s residential address and was treated as a mad person. But few guided him to Lotus pond at last.

But the boy could not breach the security of Jagan and waited outside Jagan’s house for hours. Security personnel, informed jagan about this kid.

Jagan immediately called this kid inside and treated him well. Jagan gave a photo shot for this kid and informed kid’s parents that boy is safe with him.

Jagan allowed the kid to stay with him for two days and later sent him in a bus to his native place. Boy was overwhelmed with the gift given by Jagan, which is framed picture of both of them.

Jagan, Naidu Start to Chalk Out Their Poll Plans

The election heat is slowly creeping up in Andhra Pradesh, after the court had rejected CBI’s plea of YS Jagan’s bail cancellation

Amaravati: The election heat is slowly creeping up in Andhra Pradesh, after the court had rejected CBI’s plea of YS Jagan’s bail cancellation.

There was a big groundwork, well planned by the ruling party, to hit YSRC cadre psychologically since a few days by showing CBI’s plea. However at the end, the strategy seemed not work well for the ruling party.

As per sources, TDP tried to woo YSRC MLAs to join their party by threat, and by using sops. They have also made efforts to discourage the party men by contending that Jagan would be once again behind the bars.

The TDP leaders of Krishna and Guntur districts have even planned for a huge rally with fireworks if the court ruled against the opposition leader.

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has been facing rough weather on various issues, including issues like Special Category Status, Farmer suicides, Agri Gold, Aqua Food Park agitation at Thondurru, and last but not least, Kapu Reservations agitation.

Though there is no major threat right now for Naidu, he is not taking any issue lightly. He wants to remove the thorn (Jagan) for the next election, as he thinks it may stick to his flesh any time.

After the Court’s decision, the TDP Supremo is now planning to organize mini Mahanadu at Kadapa to hit Jagan once again mentally. Naidu wants to sweep jagan’s bastion, after the confidence he had gained from his kadapa MLC seat victory. Naidu’s move will attract the mindset of the voters, as per TDP sources.

On the flip side, Opposition leader, who received a breather from the High Court, is planning different strategies to overcome Naidu.

Jagan, who is planning a family trip to New Zealand, is calculating CBI’s next move. If CBI fails to make any counter in short span, Jagan will have a chance to go public with his sympathy wave: If he made any mistake, the Court would have pushed him behind the bars.

But it will be tough for the opposition leader to overtake Naidu for right now. Efforts to rope in Prashanth Kishore for publicizing on Social Media or to implement Kishore’s strategy for upcoming elections will be of little help. Naidu is now on safe seat with no hurdles immediately from Jagan, Jana Sena or the BJP.

Breather For Jagan, CBI Plea For Cancellation Of Bail Dismissed

A CBI petition in the CBI court requesting for cancellation of the bail, granted to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy earlier, for allegedly influencing a witness was rejected on Friday. Reddy was permitted to visit New Zealand.

Hyderabad: The CBI court has rejected the CBI plea to cancel YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail. Giving its decision on Friday, the court has said the argument of the CBI is untenable. The court has earlier reserved its judgment after hearing the arguments.

The CBI in its petition has cited the interview of former Chief Secretary of undivided Andhra Pradesh, Ramakant Reddy, aired recently by Sakshi TV. The interview was part of the series of interviews in the programme ‘ Manasuloo Maata’. The interviewer was a senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao. Ramakant a Reddy has commented on the unprofessional way in which the investigation was done by the CBI. Ramakant Reddy is a witness in the CBI cases against Jagan Mohan Reddy. Citing those comments the CBI has filed a petition requesting the court to cancel the bail earlier granted to Jagan Mohan Reddy as the latter was trying to influence a witness.

The judge made it clear that the bail cannot be cancelled basing on the evidence produced by the CBI.

The judge has also permitted Reddy to go out of the country for a holiday along with family members. In fact, the judge, M Venkata Ramana, has put a condition that Jagan Mohan Reddy should take his family with him in his trip to New Zealand. Reddy has asked the court for permission to abroad for 15 days between May 15 and June 15.

TDP Hopes Jagan May Be Jailed On April 28

TDP feels Mr. Jagan, who is already in ED’s dragnet, would certainly face tough time ahead of 2019 polls, and he couldn’t come out clean before that.

HYDERABAD: The special CBI court probing the disproportionate assets case of YSRC supremo YS Jaganmohan Reddy will pronounce its verdict on April 28 on the petition of the investigating agency to cancel the bail of the leader granted three years ago. In a way, Jagan’s fate will be decided on that day, and the ruling TDP strongly believes that he would be sent to jail.

“The odds are against the leader, as he has been trying to influence the witnesses flouting the norms of the bail. The court will definitely take this into consideration” a senior leader of TDP on condition of anonymity said.

An interview of P. Ramakanth Reddy, former chief secretary, was aired and published in Sakshi TV and Sakshi daily on February 26, in which he made some comments on the case prompting the CBI to file the case. “Mr Reddy, who was CS when YSR was CM, spoke of a key person in Rajasekhara Reddy regime and expressed doubts about the fate of the assets case without that key person in the case. This amounted to influencing witnesses and was, therefore, a violation of bail conditions” the CBI stated in its petition.

Mr. V. Chandrasekhar, DIG of CBI has moved the petition claiming this condition that Mr. Jagan should not do anything that might amount to influence the witnesses had been violated by media owned by the leader. Jagan claimed the interview was neither an act of influencing nor aimed at anyone and moreover, he had nothing to do with the editorial matters of the TV and daily. The arguments were concluded today.

TDP feels Mr. Jagan, who is already in ED’s dragnet, would certainly face tough time ahead of 2019 polls, and he couldn’t come out clean before that.

Special Court Defers Decision On Revocation Of Jagan’s Bail

Do the party-men fear that the court might revoke their leader’s bail and send him to jail? This is the question everyone is asking now.

Hyderabad: The arguments over CBI’s petition regarding revoking the bail of YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy were closed on Friday at the Special Court. The court deferred the decision to April 28.

On the other hand, Jagan filed a petition seeking permission to go to New Zealand for fifteen days, between 15 May and 15 June.  He expressed a desire to leave the country during summer vacations along with the family. However, the CBI objected to it, while the court deferred the case without any verdict.

Meanwhile, the dates of a protest scheduled on 26-27 of this month were postponed to May1-2. Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy announced that he would go on ‘Rythu Deeksha,’ demanding minimum support price to the farmers’ produce.

It is well known that he is at loggerheads with the ruling party about farmers issue in the state. YSRCP senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana made this announcement on the day special court deferred its case to April 28.

Do the party-men fear that the court might revoke their leader’s bail and send him to jail? This is the question everyone is asking now.

Jagan Meets Governor, Registers Protest Against Inclusion Of Defectors In Cabinet

DARA GOPI

Amaravati: YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday met Governor E S L Narasimhan and registered hi s protest against the inclusion of his party legislators in the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet. Jagan Mohan Reddy submitted a representation to the Governor protesting against the inclusion of his party legislators in the AP Cabinet.

Coming out of the meeting with Governor in Raj Bhavan, Jagan Mohan Reddy said he would take up the issue with the President, Prime Minister, Election Commission and seek justice. He also said that he would seek the support of other political parties against the defections. He said he would fight at the national level to make Andhra Pradesh government quit the defectors and seek fresh mandate. He dared Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to get the 21 defectors quit their posts and seek re-election. He had appealed to the Election Commission to disqualify the 21 turncoats and hold fresh elections in the respective Assembly constituencies, along with the Nandyal where its sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy died recently.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said he had reminded the Governor of the criticism that Chandrababu Naidu had made when the TRS government in Telangana had included TDP MLA Talasani Srinivasa Yadav in the Cabinet. He tried to impress upon the Governor how Chandrababu Naidu blamed the Raj Bhavan too in the TRS government’s decision and wondered how the same Chandrababu Naidu had included four defectors in the Cabinet.

The YSR Congress chief also said that he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and complain to him the undemocratic approaches of Chandrababu Naidu. He expressed confidence that the political parties across the country would denounce the actions of Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan Welcomes MLC Elections Results, Dares Naidu To Face Fresh Polls

DARA GOPI

Amaravati: YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday welcomed the results of the Teachers and Graduates constituencies elections. He said that the results of the three graduates and two teachers constituency elections were in favour of the Opposition and a slap on the face of the ruling party.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the YSR Congress and the candidates supported by it have won the elections. “We have won in four seats. The graduates and the teachers representing six districts have voted for us which is against the ruling party. Even in the one seat that we have lost, our voting was good. Chandrababu Naidu had terrorised the elected representatives of the local bodies and had purchased several of them to win the local body MLC seats. But, he could not do anything in the teachers and graduates seats,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said in a chit chat with the journalists in the Assembly lobbies.

He reiterated his demand for holding elections for the MLAs who have defected to the ruling party. He claimed that people were with the Opposition and this round of teachers and graduates elections have proved it.

Jagan Mohan Reddy took strong exception to the way the Assembly proceedings are conducted. He said that the ruling party was not giving opportunities for the Opposition to speak in the House. He accused the Chief Minister of misleading the House and the people by presenting false information on the economic growth, irrigation projects and prevailing drought conditions in the Rayalaseema districts.

Referring to Chandrababu Naidu’s speech in the Assembly, Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the Opposition was not given time to speak on Chandrababu Naidu’s speech. “They have not allowed us to speak even on Point of Order,” he alleged.

Jaleel Khan claims three more YSR Congress MLAs would join TDP

Amaravati: Legislator Jaleel Khan, who defected to the ruling TDP from the YSR Congress, claimed that three more legislators from the Opposition would join the ruling party shortly. This would take the number of defections from the YSR Congress to 24, he said and asserted that the defection of legislators would show the poor performance of Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Jaleel Khan, who was found on the lobbies of the Assembly was seen asking the YSR Congress legislators to leave the party and join the ruling party. He said that the State would develop only under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He said he had spent over Rs 300 crore in his constituency on various developmental activities. “My constituency would have all the infrastructure facilities and we don’t need to be a Minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s regime to serve the people,” he asserted.

When asked about his chances of becoming a Minister in the next cabinet expansion, Jaleel Khan, who is said to have been promised the Cabinet berth to defect said he had no plans. “It is the prerogative of the Chief Minister. We don’t really need to be a Minister to serve people with Chandrababu Naidu at the helm,” he said.

Jaleel Khan said that his popularity in the Constituency is increasing after he had joined the TDP. “I would win with comfortable majority in the next elections. That is the vision of Chandrababu Naidu,” he asserted. He further said that “Even Pawan Kalyan contests against me, I would win with at least 10 votes majority. That is the popularity of Chandrababu Naidu.”

Jaleel Khan said that the YSR Congress was losing its ground in the State as the party had failed to strengthen its base at the grassroots. He further added that Jaganmohan Reddy had not changed his style of functioning. He alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy was creating hurdles for the development of the State at every stage which people were not accepting. “People want the State to be developed and Jaganmohan Reddy is not allowing. It is for this reason, leaders are leaving and cadre at the grassroots are deserting,” he claimed.

Will Lagadapati’s Guess Prove Right This Time?

Amaravathi: Lagadapati Rajgopal, a familiar name for politicians and journalists, who tries to be in the picture at appropriate time, goes positive for this leader. He is known as Andhra Octopus for perfect pre-poll surveys and performance of political parties in the States. The only black mark as MP was the pepper spray incident in Lok Sabha when AP State Bifurcation Bill was being debated.

Lagadapati was away from politics after State bifurcation, but speculations abound on  his re-entry in 2019 elections.  He is in dilemma whether to join TDP or YSRCP, say his followers who hunt at return to politics at appropriate time.

Lagadapati claims to have conducted a survey in AP, and if it is true, coming days for TDP look tough. As per his survey, YSRCP is going to win 112 seats leaving TDP with a mere 63 seats if elections were to be held now. Except in Srikakulam and Vizag districts, YSRCP is dominating in all other 10 districts. East Godavari, which gave TDP a chance to sit in power is going to be one sided in 2019 elections, moving towards YSRCP.  Same is the case with Krishna and Guntur Districts.

We cannot take Rajgopal’s survey as standard since he failed to give correct trend in other States of India in 2014 elections. But one thing is clear.  Political observers are sure that the TDP is facing anti-incumbency factor and the main question which remains in mind is who is going to encase the anti incumbency? Jagan or Pawan? YSRCP or Janasena? Let us wait and see

TDP hopes to see Sasikala’s fate befall Jagan

Dara Gopi

Amaravati: February 14, 2017 was the day when the Supreme Court had finally disposed of a 20-year-old case convicting VK Sasikala in the Disproportionate Assets case. She was sentenced to four years in jail, fined Rs 10 crores and barred from contesting elections for 10 years.

In Andhra Pradesh, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, for reasons best known to them, see a similarity between Sasikala’s case and that of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Leader of Opposition and YSR Congress chief. The TDP leaders have equated Jagan with Sasikala and predicted similar punishment to him in the near future.

TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made similar comments from his Kuppam Assembly Constituency on Thursday. He said Jagan Mohan Reddy would go to jail soon as Sasikala did. This shows that the TDP leaders want to use Sasikala’s conviction as a weapon to hit back at Jagan Mohan Reddy who is currently busy touring the State campaigning for Special Category Status.

When Chandrababu Naidu was making the statement against Jagan Mohan Reddy from Kuppam predicting that the leader would go to jail in Disproportionate Assets case soon, Jagan Mohan Reddy was in the midst of students and youth at Guntur campaigning for the Special Category Status.

It was Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and Varla Ramaiah who fired the first salvo against Jagan soon after the Supreme Court’s verdict against Sasikala. The duo saw Jagan Mohan Reddy going to Chanchalguda jail where he had spent one and a half years earlier. The leaders went one step ahead and declared that there would be no YSR Congress in the 2019 elections in the State and that would be a shot in the arm for Chandrababu Naidu to develop AP as No 1 State in the country.

“He (Jagan Mohan Reddy) had been a stumbling block for the development of the State. Once he goes to the jail, our Chief Minister can develop the State and Jagan Mohan Reddy would be surprised to see the fully developed State once he serves the term and comes out of the jail,” was what the TDP spokesman Varla Ramaiah said.

The TDP leaders, going by the trend, are confident of diluting the vote base of Jagan Mohan Reddy by continuously campaigning on the cases pending against him and the Supreme Court’s decision on a similar case involving Sasikala.

Surprisingly, the YSR Congress leaders are either silent or taking the TDP rant lightly. Jagan Mohan Reddy too was mum. The YSR Congress seems to be undeterred by the cases against Jagan. Nor the TDP’s premature prediction had any impact on cadres.  Apparently, it wants to beat the ruling party with a strong stick like Special Category Status. Jagan’s campaign for SCS has strong support at grass roots level as well as from leaders like Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan who has given enough indications of severing ties with the TDP-BJP combine on the same demand.

YCP MPs To Quit After Budget Session

  • Kurnool Yuva Bheri Well Attended

Kurnool: YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy declared here on Tuesday that the demand for special status is going to be the main agenda for the 2019 general elections. He declared that the YSRCP MPs would resign from parliament after the Budget session. Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy cautioned the government that if it dared to foist cases on students, the whole state would become chaotic.

Participating in Yuva Bheri, Opposition leader in AP said special status can be achieved only if all sections joined hands and fought together. When the demand for a separate state of Telangana, which was thought to be impossible, could be achieved why a simple demand like a special status cannot be realised, he asked. He reminded the youth that special status was some thing that was promised on the floor of the parliament. He said the YSRCP MPs would stall the proceedings of the House during Winter session of parliament. If the Centre would continue to ignore the demand, then the party MPs would submit their resignations, he said. Hundreds of students and youth have thronged at the venue. Many students raised questions which were answered by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
