Tight security for IPL matches at Uppal stadium

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have made elaborate bandobust for 10 IPL T-20 matches scheduled to be held from April 5 to 21, of which eight matches will be held on April 5, 9, 17,  19 , 30 and  May 6 , 8 , 21 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal.

Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat said as the stadium has seating capacity for 38,000 spectators they took a series of unprecedented measures to avoid any untoward incident during the matches. He said as part of elaborate bandobust arrangements,  different wings like security wing (250), traffic (270), law and order (700), armed forces (6 platoons), Octopus, SB, CCS staff and 2 fire tenders with fire fighting squad and some 1,800 police personnel were deployed.

The matches are as follows: Sun Risers Vs Royal Challengers, Bengaluru, on April 5 at 8 pm; Sun Risers Vs Gujarat Lions on April 9 at 4 pm; Sun Risers Vs Kings XI Punjab on April 17 at 8 pm; Sun Risers Vs Delhi Dare Devils on April 19 at 8 pm; Sun Risers Vs Kolkata Knight Riders on April 30 at 8 pm; Sun Risers Vs Rising Pune Supergiants on April 6 at 4 pm; Sun Risers Vs Mumbai Indians on May 8 at 8 pm; Final on May 21 at 8 pm

In and around the stadium, a total of 88 CCTV cameras are being installed including the places at vehicle check points, to cover the entire area.

Effective communication system is being maintained with the allocation of VHF sets to every sub-inspector and above his rank for quick response.

The scanners installed at the stadium will allow police and other security personnel to detect explosives and other prohibited material inside the venue.

The services of bomb disposal team and sniffer dogs were pressed into service to ensure safety in the stadium and parking place.

Check posts were set up at all the entry points of stadium to carry out anti-sabotage check and frisking of persons.

An escort vehicle of law and order is being arranged along with escort vehicle of City Security Wing.  A road clearance party, specifically for route clearance was spared for congestion free entry and exit of the players into the stadium.

Separate teams are being deployed for checking the movements of antisocial elements.

Additional bandobust arrangements made in and around the stadium round the clock.

The viewers are not allowed to carry  the things as follows:

Laptops, banners, water bottles, cameras, cigarettes ,  electronic items, Matchbox, lighters, sharp metal/plastic objects, binoculars, coins, writing pens, batteries, helmets, perfumes, bags and   outside eatables.

Separate SHE teams/Anti-eve-teasing team has been established for the first time to control eve teasing against woman. A separate vendor supervising team is established to control over the vendors and their rates as prescribed by the authorities.

The antecedents of the personnel, who are being engaged by the sponsors/vendors related to the IPL match, are being thoroughly checked and passes with photos be issued to them. Exchange of accreditation cards is strictly prohibited and replacement of personnel is not allowed. Adequate signage boards will be erected at different places to make the viewers reach stadium easily.

The viewers are not being allowed to park any type of their vehicles on either sides of the main road from Genpact to Uppal ring road and Uppal Ring Road to Vishal Mart, Ramanthapur. Gates should be opened and spectators allowed in to the stadium by 1300 hrs for 1600 hrs match and at 1700 hrs for 2000 hrs on the days of matches.

Parking Lots

Approximately parking place for 9,000 vehicles (5,000 two wheelers & 4,000 four  wheelers) is identified and arrangements are done for free flow of the traffic during the match days.

The car pass holders of outer gate-1 & 2 should come from Ramanthapur side (LG Godown/ Modern Bakery) and park their vehicles in parking A&B inside the stadium. If the parking A&B inside the stadium is full, then they should go towards gate: 11 via gate 1 and park their four vehicles in a private land. The two wheelers of gate 1 & 2 will park their vehicles in parking – B.

The physically challenged viewers, who possess passes are suggested to enter from Ramanthapur road and can enter into the stadium through outer gate No-3 (Service entry) after parking their vehicles at parking place-B.

The viewers whoever hold passes for entry through gate No’s G-4 to G-10 should enter the stadium from Habsiguda-Uppal main road (via Ek-Minar) and park their vehicles at penguin ground general parking place.

Heavy goods vehicles which would come from LB Nagar and Warangal routes would not be allowed towards Habsiguda during match timings even in their entry time. They will be diverted as per the instructions of ADCP-Traffic.

Heavy goods vehicles coming from ECIL, Kushaiguda, and Charlapalli towards Uppal X road are being diverted via Mallapur Bridge, Chengicherla X (Warangal route) and LB Nagar junctions.  The above restrictions will be in force on the cricket match days.

IPL: Sanju Samson Hits The First Ton Of The Edition

Kerala’s 22-year old Sanju Samson has become the first batsman to score a century in 2017 edition of the IPL. He has put Delhi Daredevils on a winning path with his magnificent ton.

Pune: The distinction of scoring the first century of the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was achieved by Sanju Samson of Kerala. The 22-year old batsman has hammered a fantastic 102 off 63 balls. He helped his team Delhi Daredevils to reach a very good score of 205 runs for 4 against Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Sanju’s brilliant innings included eight boundaries and five huge sixes. He has so far hit five half-centuries in IPL. Samson went to bat after the fall of the first wicket when opener Aditya Tare was out for a duck at the tenth ball. Chris Morris with 38 and Corey Anderson with two runs were at the crease when the last ball was bowled. Wicket keeper Rishabh Pant was the third highest scorer with 31 runs.

PRS captained by Ajinkya Rahane has lost five wickets for 57 runs for 8.4 overs. They are in dire straits with MS Dhoni, wicket keeper and former Indian captain on 2 runs and Rajat Bhatia on 3 runs batting at 10.38 pm.

Mumbai: We heard hitting 3 sixes in 3 balls or 6 sixes in an over but IPL registered a rare record of scoring 18 runs in two balls. Surprised, here is the story how Kolkota player Manish Pandey made it possible.

On April 9th, in IPL 10, match was going on between Mumbai Indians and Kolkotha Night Riders, with Night riders batting first.

Manish Pandey   faced Mumbai Indians bowler Mc Clenaghan in the last over. 5th ball was a six, next ball was a no ball and was hit for a boundary, next ball was a wide and last ball he hit once again for a six, now the total was 6, 5, 1, 6= 18, this is how he made it possible in just 2 balls.

17 held for ‘selling’ IPL tickets at stadium

Hyderabad: In view of the 10th IPL Season, the SOT concentrated on IPL cricket bettings and selling of IPL Tickets in black market.

On Wednesday, during the inaugural match, the SOT conducted raids at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and took 17 persons into custody while they were found selling 10th IPL first match between Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) v/s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) tickets in black at higher rates and seized 43 tickets and Rs 43,640 cash and handed the same over to the Uppal Police Station.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of K. Narsing Rao, i/c SOT, Rachakonda, by G. Naveen Kumar, Inspector, SOT Malkajgiri, SIs Ramulu, Hafeezuddin and staff participated.

Steve Smith to take over Dhoni

Hyderabad: Steve Smith of Australia will replace M.S. Dhoni as captain for Rising Pune Super Giants team for upcoming 10th IPL season which will commence from April 5th. Dhoni’s role as Skipper for International and franchise cricket formats came to an end after this decision was taken in the auction held at Bangalore.

 Sanjeev Goenka, owner of Pune Franchise said that he has highest regards on M.S and he will continue to be an important part of team. Dhoni failed to take Pune in playoffs, who was picked up by this newly formed franchise in 2016.

Dhoni was in full form with maiden ODI hundred in four years and maiden T 20 fifty after resigning as captain in test and ODI formats. 2 year contract of Dhoni with Pune Super Giant will end after this IPL.
