Three Meet Watery Grave At Pedderu Reservoir In Visakhapatnam District

Weekend fun trips on Sunday end in a watery grave for three at Pedderu Reservoir in Visakhapatnam district, while another is feared drowned at sea off the RK Beach.

Visakhapatnam: A weekend joy trip on Sunday ended in tragedy for three when they drowned in the Pedderu Reservoir near Ravipalem in Madugula mandal of Visakhapatnam district. The three were among a group of 10 who arrived at the spot on Sunday afternoon on motorbikes.

Employees of World Network Services, a Business Processing Outsourcing company in Visakhapatnam, they ventured into the reservoir in two groups. They sat on separate boulders and were enjoying the scenery. One of the three deceased, 22-year-old Adisipalli Dileep Kumar, wanting to take a swim and plunged into the waters. On noticing that he was drowning, his friends Disle Dattatreaya (24) and K.Nani (28) also dived in to rescue Dileep. The water currents were too strong for them and all the three drowned.

Nani, an undergrad in distance mode, was one of three children of Kosetty Venkateswarlu and Eswaramma living in Nehru Bazar. Dileep, an engineering graduate, was a resident of Venkannapalem and son of Rukmini and Venkataramana, an employee of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Dattatreaya hailed from Pune and his family has rushed to Visakhapatnam on knowing about the tragedy. A pall of gloom has descended on the bereaved families.

One Feared Drowned At Sea off Visakhapatnam

In another incident at Visakhapatnam, a second-year B. Sc student of a private college, 19-year-old BR Srikar, was feared drowned at sea off RK Beach on Sunday morning. According to his friends, a huge wave dragged him in when they were all hanging around the beach near the Kalimatha Temple. Efforts put in by the rescue guards have remained futile so far. The police have launched a search operation to trace Srikar.
