Tension Prevailed At Save Visakha Dharna Venue

There was tension minutes before YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy reached the venue of dharna in Visakhapatnam with the police preventing people from reaching the venue and allowing the traffic through the crowd instead of diverting it.

Visakhapatnam: Tension prevailed at the YSRCP’s ‘Save Visakha’ dharna venue with altercations taking place between the police and the Party leaders. The YSRCP is organising a dharna in front of the GVMC Office on Thursday protesting against the recent land scam. Party Chief YS Jagan is expected to be at venue within 20 minutes.

Party leaders alleged that the police became ploys of the ruling party and preventing people from entering the city from various locations in the district in a bid to fail the dharna.

The police are intentionally allowing traffic via dharna site to create difficulties for the road users, the leaders alleged. ‘The police should have diverted the traffic in view of the dharna since we took permissions from concerned police authorities,’ an agitated member complained.
