Hyderabad:  The Telangana police brought a woman who was sold to brothels by her brother-in-law back to her native village.

Lalitha, belonging to Kishtapur in Neradigonda Mandal of Adilabad, came to light after her parents sat for a protest against her in-laws, as there was no communication from their daughter for some time. Her parents alleged that Lalitha’s in-laws were behind her daughter’s missing.

Lalitha’s husband committed suicide a year ago, and they had a girl child. Instead of going back to her parent’s place after her husband’s death, Lalitha chose to stay at her in-law’s place. She started working as an ‘Aayaa’ in a local school.

In this context, her brother-in-law, Arjun Chauhan, took her to Madhya Pradesh with the help of two women and sold her there.
