Telangana Ministers Present Themselves Before Court

The case against these ministers is likely to be struck down next month for lack of witnesses.

Secunderabad: Three Ministers of the Telangana Cabinet presented themselves before the Railway Court in Secunderabad on Wednesday.

A case was lodged against the three – KT Rama Rao, Nayani Narasimha Reddy and T Padma Rao Goud, apart from others, for staging a rail roko and holding up trains at Moulali Railway Station in 2011 as part of the Separate Telangana Movement.

Railway Police then filed a case against 14 people, including the ministers, for stopping the train and inconveniencing passengers.

Once the ministers and others presented themselves before the court on Wednesday, the Railway Judge deferred the case to August 21, 2017, as witnesses against the accused were absent.

Speaking to media at the court, Nayani Narasimha Reddy said the Judge had told them that the case will be struck down if the witnesses absent themselves during the next hearing too.
