- New industrial policy a boon for investors
Hyderabad: Minister for Information Technology and Industries KT Rama Rao has claimed that Telangana stood as a role model at national level by clinching number one status in ease of doing business.
Addressing a press conference along with officials in Hyderabad on Tuesday, he said that Telangana secured 98.78 score in ease of doing business and became an ideal state in India. Attributing the record to the team work of various departments, the minister said that many reforms and new industrial policy had proved handy to fetch huge investments.
He said that lesser the government role and more governance is the idea of the reforms to usher in a new era of fast growth and economic development. The new industrial policy proved a great success in just two years, KTR said, adding “many states are trying to replicate our policies.” The number one position in ease of doing business is a befitting reply to opposition parties that carried out misinformation campaign, he said.
Telangana is making rapid strides in all sectors as 22 departments are working in complete coordination. Through 22 amendments we have simplified the process of industrial promotion, released 58 GOs, conducted 60 meetings at various levels, introduced 22 services in labour department and the state government secured first rank in 324 issues out of 380 items counted by the Centre. As many as 1.61 lakh people got direct jobs and about 3 lakh indirect jobs through reforms and various new policies in departments.
He also claimed that 2,550 industries and businesses came to Telangana with investments as the government gave necessary support and permission in 15 days. The IT Minister said the government is trying to get investments in pharma sector in the state.
