Telangana-Dutch farm varsities sign cooperation deal
Hyderabad: Telangana Government has entered into an agreement with Netherlands University, for cooperation in agriculture business and food processing sectors. A delegation of Netherlands called on Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy at Secretariat on Monday and held discussions on cooperation in these sectors.
Prof Jayashankar University and Netherlands Vageningan varsity signed the deal. The minister stated that there is ample scope and opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors. He also asked them to set up related industries based on local environment and conditions to produce end to end products. The Netherlands team came forward to offer technological support to the Telangana farmers to go in for poly house farming activity.
Srinivas Reddy said that the farmers can get remunerative prices when the produce is attached to agri processing units and the government gave permission for poly house farming in 1000 acres. Netherlands is noted for exports in agri, food products, meat, dairy products and is to offer needed technological support to Telangana Government in agriculture and allied sectors. –NSS
