TDP MLAs, MLCs Surrender Gunmen in West Godavari

The war of attrition between the TDP leaders and the police department in West Godavari district has reached a stage when Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has to step in.

Eluru: Expressing concerns over booking cases against TDP MLA of Tanuku Radha Krishna, nearly 12 MLAs and three MLCs of ruling party surrendered their gunmen yesterday.

This is in protest against district SP Bhaskar Bhushan and police department which filed cases on Tanuku MLA with wrongful confinement by Iragavaram SI Srinivas Rao and writer Pradeep Kumar.

TDP district President Seetharama lakshmi who had a district meeting took the decision of surrendering gunmen though Ministers Pulla Rao and Pithani tried to pacify them.

As per MLA Radha Krishna, SP is running parallel government against TDP and booking cases against party cadre.
“I did not commit any mistake. If Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh feel police action is correct, I will tender my resignation and will not bow my head in front of anybody,” Radha Krishna said.

Gunmen were sent back by SP who said that decisions have to be taken by higher authorities who provided security to MLAs.

This internal war between ruling party MLAs on one side and the police department in the other will be a new headache for Naidu as per political experts.
