Talks on creation of Medtech global ecosystem

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) CEO met key players of Swiss-based MTIP (Med Tech Innovation Partners) on Thursday and discussed the possibilities of creating a global ecosystem for Medtech innovations in Andhra Pradesh.
MTIP is a Swiss-based venture investor specialized in the healthcare sector and focuses on medical devices and diagnostics as well as digital health and healthcare services. The MTIP has been instrumental in building the renowned Swiss Innovation Park, an independent catalyst for innovation in biotech and biomedical engineering, sciences and technologies.
J Krishna Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, APEDB, visited the innovation clusters in Switzerland and interacted with key players of MTIP and apprised them of the high impact development activities that the Andhra Pradesh was undertaking under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Kishore also called on Smitha Purushottam, Indian Ambassador to Switzerland and sought her support for various Swiss development projects planned in Andhra Pradesh.
Kishore said, “Andhra Pradesh is delighted to have MTIP set up an ecosystem for medical technology innovations. This would be a game changer for Andhra Pradesh and is in tune with the Chief Minister’s vision of making Andhra Pradesh a knowledge, technology and innovation hub of India”. The proposed ecosystem for MedTech Innovations in Visakhapatnam is expected to create some 75,000 to 95,000 jobs over the next 10 years and create a steady revenue source for Andhra Pradesh and India.
