Talasani Says No Division In Film Industry Over Drugs Case

The minister asserts that Telugu cinema industry is not limited to just the 12 celebrities under interrogation.

Hyderabad: Telangana Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Friday asserted that film industry has not got divided along regional lines over drugs issue.

The minister’s comments come following rumours doing rounds that the Telugu film industry has split vertically over the drugs issue involving film celebrities.

Speaking to media, Talasani clarified that the whole industry is not involved in the drugs case. “Telugu cinema industry doesn’t mean just the 12 celebrities who attended the interrogation. There are many other artists and technicians in the industry,” he observed.

He said he will hold discussions with industry bigwigs after the ongoing interrogation in the drugs case is over.

The minister asserted that there is no question of cinema industry leaving Hyderabad. Why will they want to miss such a good climate, he countered. He offered all help and cooperation to the film industry from the State Government.

Talasani felt no relationship could be seen between the drugs case and Hyderabad’s image. He maintained that all endeavours will be made to ensure that Hyderabad remains a drugs free city.
