After the shooting, the accused fled the place but was nabbed by the police from his hiding place.

Even Vice-Consul Harpal Singh is proceeding from Dallas to Kansas. Both the Embassy officials would meet the injured Alok Madasani, who was discharged after doctors performed an operation to remove the bullet from his body, and also take steps for brining the mortal remains of Srinivas Kuchibhotla. Both the officials would also coordinate with the local US police to ascertain more details of the incident and monitor the follow-up action, she said.
According to the information reaching here, Srinivas and Alok, both working as aviation program managers at Garim, an electronics manufacturing unit, were at Austin’s Bar and Grill when the shooting took place. It is reported that the assailant picked up an argument with both, but on the intervention of the restaurant personnel left the place. However, he returned armed with a gun and opened fire at both Srinivas and Alok yelling “Get out of my country”. Srinivas, who sustained serious injuries died on way to hospital while Alok was admitted. Later, Alok was discharged after the bullet from his body was removed by the doctors, who performed an emergency operation.
Deceased Srinivas graduated from JNTU in Hyderabad and got his degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005. He did his Masters from University of Texas in El Paso and was working since 2014 with Garmin. He is survived by his wife Sunayana Dumala, also hailing from Hyderababd, and working in a technology company in Kansas. They got married in 2012.
Alok Madasani, hailing from Warangal is a graduate from Vasavi College of Engineering here and secured his Master’s from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He also joined Garmin at the same time as Srinivas.
Parents and close relatives of scores of techies from city and other parts of Telangana State, either working or studying in the USA, are a worried lot following the shooting incidents, especially after Donald Trump took over as President. They hoped the Central government as well the TRS State Government would take all possible measures for the safety and protection of their children in the US. (NSS)
