Sunny Leone Advertisements To Be Removed In Goa
Panaji: The condom advertisement featuring Bollywood actress and former porn star Sunny Leone will be removed from display boards on state-run buses, informed Goa Transport Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Friday.
The advertisements that are currently displayed on the Kadamba Transport Corporation buses as part of contract between Contraception Company and the corporation would now disappear. It was Congress MLA Francis Silveira who demanded the withdrawal of the advertisements during the monsoon session of the Goa Assembly on August 1.
“…I also personally request the chairman and managing director of Kadamba (Transport Corporation) that such type of ads are not to be considered in the future, so that there won’t be any problem towards the public,” the minister reportedly said.
“Whatever posters that objected by the public, I will request chairman and MD of Kadamba to remove that and take necessary cognizance in future,” he added.
Meanwhile, Silveira speaking to media at the State Assembly complex said that he was glad that the Bharatiya Janata Party led coalition government took cognizance of his complaint.
“Goa is a beautiful place, a tourism destination. Goans are good people, this cannot be allowed to happen here,” he said.
