Sridevi’s 300th Movie “Mom” To Be Released On July 7
Mumbai: Come July 7, it will be a feast to hundreds of thousands of fans of actress Sridevi, as her 300th movie will hit the screens across India on that day. The movie, “Mom” is being produced by Zee Studios and her husband Boney Kapoor jointly in four languages- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Directed by Ravi Udaywar, Mom will feature Nawazuddin Siddique and Akshaya Khanna. Musical wizard AR Rehman is providing scores and one of the specialties is said to be a song by Rehman and another by a palestinian singer on which the oscar-winning director has been working for over a year.
The veteran actress who has been in the tinsel world for over fifty years feels that still she is a newcomer and every movie is her first one before the camera.
“Fifty years have passed by since I started acting but still I feel I am a newcomer for every new venture,” Sridevi, 53, who made her acting debut at the age of three, said.
The heart-throb of yesteryear awaits the release of “Mom”. This is the third one in the actress’ second innings. A couple of years ago, she acted in a not-so-successful movie English-Vinglish and also Puli.
“Mom”, she said the film is a “simple”, “emotional family drama”. “As a mother of two daughters, I could relate with the story so well. I was moved by the story when I heard it. It’s a very important film for teenagers and even for mothers,” she said, adding she didn’t really plan to do this project.
“After ‘English Vinglish’, I got busy with my daughters. I really didn’t plan to do more films. I have never planned things. When Boney (Kapoor) told me a line of the story, it really got me excited. It took nearly two years to develop the story and start this project,” she said.
