Speaker, Ministers See Conspiracy In Rain Water Leakage In Assembly

Ministers and Assembly Speaker saw conspiracy in the rain water entering the premises of Leader of Opposition in the temporary Secretariat complex. While Speaker said he was ordering CID probe into the episode, Ministers brushed aside the YSR Congress leaders’ charge on the quality of construction.

Velagapudi: The State government has discounted the leakage of rain water into the corridors of the temporary secretariat building here and the chambers of the Leader of Opposition. The AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) had already made light of the incident pointing out that the leakage was due to damage caused to a pipeline that passed through the chamber of the Leader of Opposition.  However, Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, who inspected the building and saw the leakage announced that he would ask for CID probe into the leakage. He saw the pipeline that was cut by some miscreants because of which the rain water entered the chamber.

The Speaker accompanied by a section of the media inspected the Assembly block, a few hours after the denial of entry for the YSR Congress leaders and some media persons to visit the Assembly block. The Speaker assisted by the CRDA officials and the representatives of the contractors, saw the pipeline that is seen as the reason for the leakage.

Meanwhile, Ministers P Narayana and Nakka Ananda Babu accused the YSR Congress for spreading false news about the Secretariat complex. They alleged that Leader of Opposition Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy did not like the capital coming up in Amaravati and had been creating problems to the government right from the beginning. The ministers said that the rain water leakage was a small issue but was sensationalized by the Opposition to bring disgrace to the State.
