Snow Storm Expected to Hit Northeast America
Washington, D.C.: A blizzard is expected to hit the Northeast of the United States late Monday or early Tuesday. Over a 100 million people are bracing for the storm, which is centered over Boston and New York area.
Gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph are expected along with snow of roughly 18 to 20 inches in New York area, around 14 inches in Boston, and about 5 inches in Washington, D.C.
Officials have warned eight states in the Northeast, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, that would be affected by the winter storm Stella.
Many schools and workplaces across the Northeast are scheduled to close due to the impending storm, and about 4,500 flights have been cancelled for Tuesday, mostly from New York and Boston airports.
