SM Krishna To Join BJP
Bengaluru: Former Congressmen S.M .Krishna is set to join BJP on March 18th according to party sources. This will be a big blow to Siddaramaiah Government and the Congress party in the state with state elections due in 2018.
After a lengthy meeting with Yeduyarappa, Krishna decided to join the ruling party after meeting its national president Amit Shah on 13th March. S.M. Krishna said, ‘It was painful to leave Congress, but the party miffed and sidelined which pushed me to take this decision,’ Krishna added.
S.M. Krishna along with wife Prema and close associates had a meeting with Yeduyarappa and gave acceptance to join BJP in coming days.
Former External Affairs Minister was known for making Karnataka a IT hub during his rule as CM. With the joining of Krishna, BJP, which is weak in Old Mysuru region will benefit with former to lead Nanjangud constituency for BJP campaign.
Krishna felt that due to lack of vision in part of the party leaders, Congress has lost connection with all the sections of the people. Mr Krishna praised Modi for his bold decisions like demonetisation and surgical strikes on Pak terror.
