Silpa Chakrapani’s Resignation, Advantage YSR Congress
Nandyal: AP Legislative Council vice-chairman Reddi Subrahmanyam had accepted the resignation of MLC Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, who had resigned on August 3. In the absence of Chairman, the vice-chairman had accepted the resignation. The acceptance had come as an advantage for YSR Congress which has been throwing an open challenge to the TDP to establish values in politics. The YSR Congress had asked the TDP to get the 20 turncoat MLAs resign and seek fresh mandate. This would be the new slogan for the YSR Congress in the campaign for the next one week for which the TDP would have to answer.
While Jagan Mohan Reddy had already promised to ensure the re-election of Chakrapani Reddy from the Kurnool local body constituency, he is set to fix TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in trouble by repeating the challenge and thus reaching out to the voters.
The debate on value-based politics has already started in the social media with the YSR Congress activists throwing open challenge to the TDP chief to get the resignations of the 20 MLAs and seek fresh mandate. The message is all set to go deeper into the people with the electioneering taking to its heights in Nandyal now.
It is to be seen how the TDP would counter this campaign and respond to the challenge. The trouble is more on the four turncoat MLAs who have become Cabinet Ministers in the TDP government.
