SI on PM’s security duty allegedly kills self
Hyderabad: A Sub-Inspector of police, Sridhar, who was drafted for bandobust duty in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver.
According to the police, the SI, a native of Warangal and attached to the Chintalamanepally Police Station, was drafted for security duty in connection with the PM’s visit to the National Police Academy here. He came to the city on November 23.
He was posted to keep a vigil from the roof of an apartment adjoining the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway at Pillar No.174 near Upparpally. Another policeman who was to take over the duty in the morning found him dead. As per preliminary investigations, the SI took the extreme step of ending his life due to family issues. However, since his last call on the phone seemed to be to a woman, the love affair angle is also being examined to ascertain the motive.
