Shobha Nagi Reddy’s two daughters file papers
Allagadda, October 21: Bhuma Akhila Priya and Bhuma Mounika Reddy filed their nomination papers for the November 8 by-election to the Allagadda assembly seat in Andhra Pradesh.
The by polls are being conducted at Allagadda since Bhuma Sobha Nagi Reddy who represented YSRCP in the Kurnool constituency and died in a road accident just before the elections; had won the elections. The Election Commission did not countermand the election as the YSR Congress is not a recognised party.
However, Mounika will withdraw her papers if Akhila’s nomination is accepted. The Telugu Desam party is not fielding any of its candidate at Allagadda in reciprocation to YSRCP’s gesture to the same effect in Nadigama. There was a by-poll held at Nandigama after the sitting MLA Tangirala Prabhakara Rao’s death.
Seven candidates, including five Independents, have filed nomination papers for the Nov 8 by-election. YSRCP is trying to convince the independents too to withdraw their nominations.
