SHE Shuttles For Women Safety

  • Two shuttles launched at Raheja Mind Space

HYDERABAD: IT Minister Rama Rao and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy on Monday launched two SHE shuttles at the Raheja Mind Space.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of Society for Cyberabad Security Council Bharani Kumar Aroll said, “The SHE Shuttle is yet another trendsetting initiative being launched by SCSC, a first of its kind in the entire country. The council, in its pursuit of promoting safety and security to the Cyberabad IT Corridor, is planning on unleashing many such progressive initiatives, particularly towards the women safety.”

The SCSC is a joint initiative of the Cyberabad IT Industry in partnership with the Cyberabad Police and the State Government. SHE Shuttles is a women-only transport system rolled out for the transit safety of women-employees in the Cyberabad IT Corridor, launched in 2006. The council promotes business continuity through women safety, traffic safety, infrastructure safety and cyber safety.

Chief guest Mahender Reddy said the safety and security of women is a matter of high priority for the Telangana Government. He said transport solutions like SHE-Shuttle, which integrates cutting-edge technology with transport would be explored for extension to the other parts of the state.

Guest of honor Rama Rao expressed satisfaction on the yeomen work undertaken by the SCSC and the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate for the promotion of the safety and security of the women employees of the IT Sector. Recalling that non-AC buses were launched on a pilot basis, Rao announced that four more AC buses would be sanctioned for the SHE-Shuttle buses.

Commissioner of Police Anand congratulated the SCSC for coming with initiatives that have a far-reaching impact on the security of the IT Corridor. He expressed deep satisfaction on the execution speed of the projects undertaken by the SCSC and wished all the best for the future endeavors.

The features of She-Shuttles are:

  • A full-time lady security guard
  • A 24-hour monitor system fromcentral control room at Cyberabad Police Commissionerate
  • Smart App for every passenger with Panic Mode
  • Travellers can see the dynamic location of the bus in the Smart App at any given time and save time spent in waiting for the shuttle
  • Ability to integrate with company security and Whatsapp control room
  • Ability to integrate with citizen marshals from the IT Corridor
  • Free for all women employees of SCSC member companies
  • Shuttle Services work from 8 AM to 10 PM

It may be mentioned here that SHE Shuttles have been procured with the funds released by the TSIIC and shall be run with the funds sponsored by DLF IT Park and Ascendas IT Park. The bus also packs with it “Reach Safe” women safety application, which has been developed and deployed by Votary Tech, a leading technology company from Hyderabad specializing in solutions for the SMART cities.
