SCR organizes painting competition
Golden Jubilee celebrations
Hyderabad: Coinciding with its golden jubilee celebrations, the South Central Railway organized a painting competition on the theme “Indian Railways – Lifeline to the Nation” on Saturday on the premises of Railway Junior College, Secunderabad.
The contest, held for various age groups – up to 12 years, 12-18 years, above 18 years — saw over 1,000 participate. Ravindra Gupta, SCR General Manager, was the chief guest while Shikha Gupta, SCR Women’s Welfare Organization president, declared it open. Bijay Biswal, eminent artiste from Nagpur, who also hails from the Indian Railways fraternity, marked his presence as a special invitee. He also held a painting workshop for amateur artistes amongst the participants.
Cash Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best paintings will be awarded in each category and the selected paintings will also be exhibited during South Central Railway’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations function. A.K. Gupta, Additional General Manager; Ashesh Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division; P. Ganeshwara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager, N.V. Ramana Reddy, Chief Personnel Officer, SCR, were amongst the Officials present.
