‘Scamgress’ has no right to accuse TRS
HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister for Information Technology and Panchayat Raj K T Rama Rao today lambasted AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh for his alleged remarks on Water Grid and others programs.
- How can water be supplied without pipes: KTR
- Asks if the Congress was not dominated by a family
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan here on Friday, KTR said, “The entire nation has rejected the Congress for its misrule and scams. He alleged that the Congress has acquired notoriety for its scams and scandals looting lakhs of crores of public money. The Congress has got dubious distinction of cheating people and minting public money through many scams bringing disrepute to the nation across the globe”, he alleged.
KTR said the Congress party and its general secretary Digvijay Singh have no moral right to accuse the TRS government of corrupt practices. The TRS Government was aiming to provide safe and potable water using Godavari and Krishna rivers through water grid, he said. He also rejected Singh’s allegations that the water grid project was meant for filling pockets of pipe industries. Providing the people safe drinking water sans fluorine was the minimum responsibility of any government which was ignored by the previous Congress regime.
KTR expressed serious discontent over Singh’s remarks and asked the latter to inform if he has any better idea to supply waters without any pipeline. He sought to know whether it is possible to supply waters without pipes, offer education without schools, medicines without hospitals. “One will appreciate our efforts of providing safe water which was not taken up by any previous government”. Faulting Digvijay Singh for his comments that family rule was on in Telangana, KTR retorted “Is it not true with the Congress, as one family, right from Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were lording over the largest democracy in the world?”
The TRS leaders came to power only through people’s movement and the party was democratically elected by the citizens, he said, adding, “We did not disappear like Rahul Gandhi. Instead of making false allegations, the Congress should show proof to help us fix the issues”. KTR maintained that the TRS Government was sincerely trying to keep all the promises made. (NSS)
