SC Hears Roja’s Plea

Roja’s letter apologising for her behaviour in the AP Legislative Assembly has been handed over to the advocate representing the legislature before the SC Bench.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday heard the plea of YSRCP MLA Roja, who was suspended from the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

The counsel representing Roja, Indira Jaisingh submitted to the court that the MLA continues to remain suspended despite writing a letter to the Speaker apologising to the House.

However, the advocate representing the AP Legislative Assembly said that they have not received the letter. The bench asked Indira Jaisingh to submit the letter to the advocate before them. It then directed the advocate to send the letter to all the concerned departments and take necessary steps.

As the case is still pending in the High Court, the bench clarified that it cannot intervene in the case. It directed the counsel of Roja to approach the High Court itself.
