SC categorisation: Malas to intensify stir
Hyderabad: Mala Mahanadu leader Vadlamuri Krishna Swaroop here on Thursday threatened to intensify agitation in both the Telugu States Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to oppose the moves for categorisation of Scheduled Castes.
Speaking to media persons, the Mala leader expressed his displeasure over the Telugu states and Centre resorting to “mean politics” and insulting the ideals of Constitution author, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, in the name of categorisation of SCs.
Though the Apex Court as well as the National SC Commission have made it clear that the move for categorisation of Scheduled Castes was ultra wires, Krishna Swaroop alleged that the political parties were resorting to vote bank policies and creating unrest among the Dalits.
The Mala leader reminded that they have submitted memoranda to the Prime Minister, Union Law Minister, Parliamentary SC Forum Chairman, Lok Sabha Speaker, Rajya Sabha chairman and others urging them to stop the process of SC categorisation immediately.
He also advised the Mala MPs, who were doing nothing about the issue, to honourably resign from their elected posts and sit in home.
Dubbing Union Minister for Urban Development & Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu as “Malala Drohi”, the Mala leader said the Malas would storm his residence if he failed to mend his ways.
Alleging that the Upper castes’ leaders were conspiring to bring about vertical division among the Scheduled Castes (Malas & Madigas) with an evil intention to prevent the SCs to wrest power in the country, he said they would foil their efforts and organise “Malala Samarabheri” in Warangal on April 27 and in all major towns and villages in Andhra Pradesh.
