‘Samaja Vikasam – Kutumba Vikasam’ Is The Mantra of A P Govt, Says Governor
Amaravati: Establishment of A p e-Knowledge Exchange to develop the State in to a Knowledge hub, and development of Tirupathi, Srisailam, Srikalahasti, Kadapa Dargah, Mahanandi, Simhachalam, Annavam and Vijayawada as a spiritual conduit, are among the announcements made by the Governor ESL Narasimhan on Monday, in his address to the joint session of the two Houses of Legislature today, in the new Assembly building at Velagapudi in Amaravathi. This is the first session of the A P legislature to be held in the new capital.
Then Governor said that ‘Samaja Vikasam-Kutumba Vikasam’ is the new motto of the government to make the state number one in the country by 2022. Narasimhan said 11.06 am of the day (when the meet started) is going to remain a golden moment in the history of Andhra Pradesh as the legislature began its functioning from its own capital.
Listing out the achievements of the government in the past two-and-a-half years after the bifurcation, the Governor said the State is fast progressing to achieve a double-digit growth. Some of the future plans of the government to achieve its goal of Samaja Vikasam-Kutumba Vikasam are as follows:
AP contributes 70 percent in the country’s aqua sector and forms 45 percent of the entire food sector providing employment to 14.5 lakh people. AP will be developed into an aqua hub of the country.
Government is striving to develop a conducive atmosphere to investments in food processing, textiles, electronics hardware, automobiles, aerospace, defence, tourism and other sectors not only to encourage upcoming entrepreneurs but also to attract large scale investments from outside the state and country.
An authority for the development of micro, small and medium scale enterprises will be established. The MSME Authority will support MSME units in monitory terms to revive them. AP e-Knowledge Exchange will be established to develop the state into a knowledge hub through implementation of digital classroom, biometric attendance system and containing drop-outs rate in schools.
The government’s functioning will be based on seven missions, five grids and five channels of campaigns. Polavaram project will be completed by 2019 and from 2018 water will be released through gravity.
Members of both the ruling and opposition parties attended the session in full quorum on the historic day in AP State Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, all the ministers and the Leader of the Main Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy keenly listened to the Governor’s address.
