Revanth Reddy gets 12-hour interim bail
HYDERABAD: The ACB Court has granted an interim bail to TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy here on Wednesday, but it refused to grant full pledged bail. The Court granted 12 hours bail on the plea of Ravanth Reddy’s Counsel. It may be recalled that on Thursday, Revanth Reddy’s daughter Naimisha Reddy’s engagement was scheduled.
Earlier, Revanth Reddy’s lawyers argued for full pledged bail alleging that the case against Revanth Reddy was with bad motive and the opponents intentionally trapped him in the case with political conspiracy. They lawyers argued that the opponents inspired to destroy Revanth Reddy and his political party and stated that Revanth Reddy has no link with the case.
In response to Revanth’s Counsel Argument, ACB urged the Court not to grant full pledged bail. “The Case will be changed if given full pledged bail”, ACB stated. At this stage, Revanth’s Counsel urged the Court to grant interim bail. Responding to Counsel’s plea, ACB Court granted conditional interim bail from Thursday morning 6 AM to evening 6PM. The Court made it clear that during bail time Revanth Reddy should not meet the media people and political leaders.
Lawyer Siddhartha Lotha argued on behalf of Revanth Reddy and said that asking for vote was not a crime in a democratic country and alleged the ACB has not recorded the complainants version. He wondered over raid of Revanth Reddy’s house after nine days of arrest. Lotha brought several cases to the notice of Court to support his arguments.
ACB special lawyer Surender Rao argued that there is a chance that the evidences will be changed if Revanth was given bail and said that ACB has no objection if one day bail was granted. (NSS)
