Revanth Reddy Bail Petition Adjourned to Tuesday
HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau here has registered an FIR against Telangana TDP MLA Revanth Reddy, who was caught red-handed while offering 50 lakh rupees to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson on Sunday night to vote for TDP-BJP candidate in the MLC elections.
The ACB also included Revanth’s three aides in the trap case as co-accused. While Revanth was made first in the accused list (A-1), Sebastian Harry was made A-2, Uday Sinha as A-3 and Mathews Jerusalem as A-4.
Before producing Revanth before the special judge on Sunday night after the operation, the sleuths got him examined in the Osmania General Hospital. The accused was again presented before the judge, who remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.
When Revanth’s defense counsels filed a petition in the special court for granting the bail, the ACB prosecutor also filed a petition in the court simultaneously seeking custody of the accused for further questioning. On the other hand, Revanth filed another petition in the court seeking special facilities.
After hearing both sides, the judge adjourned Revanth Reddy bail petition to Tuesday. To this, the prosecution sought time to file counter against the bail petition. The defense counsels alleged that the Revanth’s trap operation was a part of political conspiracy. (NSS)
