Resolve Air Travel Ban Issue, AP CM Tells Diwakar
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has asked Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy to resolve the travel ban issue against him “personally and swiftly”. The CM suggested that he discuss the same with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and put an end to the travel ban controversy.
It may be recalled that last month, the MP had created a ruckus at the Visakhapatnam Airport as IndiGo Airlines, with which he was to fly, did not issue him a boarding pass as he had arrived late. Diwakar had then misbehaved with the IndiGo staff and tried to destroy the printer at the counter. Following this, several airlines imposed a travel ban against him and the issue became national.
Two days ago, TruJet did not allow the MP to travel on its flight. After these incidents, Naidu is said to have interfered and advised the MP to close the issue. He also suggested that people in politics should be patient.
The behaviour of the MP at Visakhapatnam airport has been recorded by the CCTV cameras there. As such, Naidu feels that he should apologise to the IndiGo staff and let the matter rest.
It is not known how Ashok Gajapathi Raju will respond. Like Shiva Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad, who was allowed to fly after apologising to the staff, Diwakar may also be asked to do the same.
