Hyderabad: Alleging that Dubbak mandal SI Chitti Babu committed suicide with his service revolver due to higher officials’ harassment, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi has alleged that harassment of higher officials in the police department increased.
On Saturday, Mallu Ravi said that one SI committed suicide few months ago by writing suicide note alleging that he was committed suicide due to higher officials’ harassment. Asking the state government to tell as to why the state government was not initiating steps to control such incidents. As to what was the state government was doing though the corruption crossing its limits in police department, he questioned. He asked Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao to tell as to what the Minister was doing where the police were committing suicides due to higher officials’ harassments in his own district. As to why the Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy was kept quiet, he asked and demanded Nayani to order comprehensive inquiry into the police suicides in the state.
Taking serious objection at Harish Rao’s statement against Congress that it was obstructing the construction of irrigation projects and need to hang Congress party, Ravi said that discussion took place seriously in TPCC Co-ordinatoin Committee meeting held on Friday in Gandhi Bhavan on Komatireddy Brothers issue. He said that AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh directed the party leaders on this issue.
