Ramanaidu cremated with State honours
HYDERABAD: The body of “Movie Moghul” Dr Daggubati Ramanaidu, who passed away on Wednesday afternoon, was cremated with State honors at the Ramanaidu Studios at Film Nagar at 4 pm on Thursday. State police personnel fired three rounds in the air while the pyre was lit by his sons Suresh Babu and Venkatesh in the presence of eminent film personalities, politicians and fans.
Hundreds of fans and celebrities kept arriving to the studios to pay their last respects to the legendary Telugu cinema producer, who died battling cancer. Naidu’s body was shifted from his house to the Ramanaidu Studios in the morning for the convenience of fans to pay their last respects. A memorial would be built at the cremation site later to perpetuate his memory. Rana Daggubati, who has been the most favorite of his grandfather, was unable to control his emotions as the funeral proceedings progressed. Ramanaidu’s grandchildren – Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Malavika, Aishwarya, Arjun and others — were seen sobbing at the funeral.
The Rama Naidu’s studios was jam-packed with the huge crowd and police faced a tough time control them. Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav represented the Telangana Government at the funeral. (NSS)
