Raj Bhavan nails news reports
HYDERABAD: In response to certain news stories appearing in a section of the regional media which were critical of the Governor, the Raj Bhavan on Saturday clarified that it is a high Constitutional office which functions in an objective and impartial manner as per the Constitutional mandate.
“It would not like to be drawn into needless controversies and react to reports from time to time. It has to be emphasized that such decisions taken are entirely within the legal framework. During the President’s Rule, a number of decisions were taken on matters which have originated from the concerned departments in response to representations and needs. These are examined by other wings of the department like Law, Finance and General Administration and placed before the Governor.
The Governor, during the period of President’s Rule, was assisted and advised by the Chief Secretary and Advisors appointed duly. The decisions are a process of collective decision making and attributing the same solely as Governor’s decision is not in appreciation of how Government works. Raj Bhavan would like to reiterate that it is objective and impartial and shall remain so and wants to keep away from any controversy. (NSS)
