Raghuveera takes a dig at Modi for criticizing Manmohan

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Congress president N Raghuveera Reddy on Tuesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks against former prime minister Manmohan Singh in Rajya Sabha.

Raghuveera Reddy said that Manmohan Singh is an acknowledged economist and a proven administrator. The comments against Manmohan Singh were uncalled for and demanded that Modi apologize to the nation for the remarks. He said that Modi was playing childish politics without having any knowledge on issues like economy and history. He alleged that Modi had come to power by making umpteen number of promises during elections and using communal sentiments. He further alleged that Modi had failed in all fronts, particularly in fulfilling the promise of unearthing black money and providing jobs for the people. The demonetization was a greatest scam in the country that Modi had executed to save the black money hoarders supporting Modi, the APCC chief alleged.

Raghuveera said that people in the country were still having problems with the demonetization as the government failed to take alternative arrangements even after five months. He said that banks remain closed and ATMs have no money even today. He further added that the small notes are not made available even today hitting the small and medium markets hard.

Referring to Modi’s claims on demonetization, the APCC chief wanted to know how much of the black money was returned to the exchequer. He said that Modi had failed to fulfill even a single promise that he had made at the time of demonetization. He further said that Modi had no right to continue in power and demanded that Narendra Modi step down apologizing to the nation for all his failures.

“Having failed in all issues, Modi is trying to divert the attention of the people by criticizing Manmohan Singh,” he added. He also found fault with Modi for dragging the name of Indira Gandhi into the demonetization controversy. He wondered what knowledge Modi had about the rule of Indira Gandhi who had nationalized the banks and financial institutions and introduced green revolution that had given food to the nation.

The APCC president wanted the Prime Minister to withdraw his remarks against Manmohan Singh and Indira Gandhi, admit his failures and apologize to the nation.
