PV Sindhu Joins As Deputy Collector

The Olympic silver medalist vowed that she would do justice to her job as Deputy Collector after assuming the office.

Amaravati: The Olympic Silver medalist in 2016 Rio Olympics and badminton player PV Sindhu took charge as deputy collector in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

Flanked by her parents, Sindhu reached the office of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) and reported to Chief Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha in the State Secretariat at Gollapudi, Amaravati.

After taking over charge as deputy collector, PV Sindhu speaking to media expressed happiness on being part of the AP government. She vowed that she would do justice to her job as the deputy collector.

Sindhu was appointed as Group-I officer by the state government last month and was asked to join the duties as deputy collector within 30 days.

Meanwhile, there is no clarity about what kind of responsibilities would she be undertaking.  Within a week there might be clarity on this.
