PV Narasimha Rao ’s 94 Birth Anniversary Celebrations
Leaders hail Narsimha Rao as reformist
HYDERABAD: Telangana State Government today conducted former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao ’s 94th birth anniversary celebrations in a grand manner at PV Gnan Bhumi on Necklace Road here.
Deputy Chief Ministers Kadiam Srihari, Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Ministers Harish Rao, Mahender Reddy, Nageshwar Rao, MP Boora Narsaiah Goud, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma and family members of late PV Narasimha Rao were among those who offered floral tributes to the departed leader.
They released an album “Kala Sudha” comprising exemplary painting works of Surabhi Vanidevi, daughter of PV on the occasion. TPCC President Utham Kumar Reddy, Telangana CLP leader Jana Reddy, MP Hanmanth Rao, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, APCC Chief Raghuveera Reddy, KVP Ramachandra Rao and others also paid tributes to the late Prime Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Narsimha Reddy said the TRS Government would follow the ideals of late PV, who was the son of Telangana soil. PV was noted for introducing revolutionary financial reforms that resulted in the progress of every sector in the country, and his government would not forget PV’s services, he said.
Boora Narsaiah Goud said PV Narasimha Rao was a great man, who strove at national level for the cause of poor and deprived classes. The TRS Government will press the Centre to construct a PV memorial at Delhi, he said. The Congress leaders said PV had left an indelible mark of the best services for the cause of the poor. Entire world appreciated PV’s financial reforms, they said and appealed to the governments to emulate his services.
PV’s son PV Rajeshwar Rao and other family members said it was the TRS Government that gave recognition to the former prime minister. They deplored that the previous governments had failed to recognize services of Narasimha Rao. (NSS)
