Pura Seva: a click away to solve civic problems
Amaravathi: Pura Seva app introduced by Municipal Administration and Urban Development, is coming handy for majority of people in Andhra Pradesh to redress their civil grievances in time. People residing in urban areas started using the app to bring the civic problems to the notice of officials for immediate action.
If any person notices piling up of garbage on their street corner or clogged drain, they can take a photograph using their mobile phone and send it through the Pura Seva app to the officials. Immediately the problem will reach the concerned official, who is in-charge of the area. To do that, first people have to download the Pura Seva app through Google Play Store.
People residing in 14 municipal corporations, 96 municipalities and nagar panchayats in Andhra Pradesh can use the app to redress their grievances relating to revenue, health, roads, drinking water, street lights, town planning, etc. Altogether 91 issues have been included in the app.
The government has set a time limit to solve the issues. If the employees failed to solve the issue in the given time, the issue will be forwarded to the head of department and Chief Minister dash board automatically. Higher officials monitoring the CM dash board regularly will recommend for disciplinary action against the erring staff for the delay in solving the civic problems.
People can complain on pipeline leakages, polluted drinking water, irregular supply of drinking water, pot holes on roads, clogged drains, mounting of garbage, illegal constructions, encroachments on government lands including foot paths, arranging sign boards or cut outs without permission, non-functioning of street lights, stray dog menace and negligence in maintenance of playgrounds and parks.
