PUC Certificates Through Online: Minister Mahender reddy
Hyderabad: Minister for Transport P Mahender Reddy today informed the Assembly that pollution control certificates will be issued online avoiding interference of middlemen and corruption, besides putting in place speed governors to check unabated accidents resulting in fatalities on roads.
Replying to queries posed by members including V Srinivas Goud, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Balraj, Ajay Kumar, Chinnaiah and Jafar Hussein on the transport department services, steps to curb accidents, road security measures and improving services online, Mahender Reddy said besides taking special care to check accidents on national highways and other roads, speed governors will be put in place and private operators should follow suit.
Pollution control certificates issued online will help avoid agencies and middlemen and so far 57 services were being offered online for the benefit of the people.
Vehicle efficiency tests can be conducted by officials and funds will be spent for providing permanent buildings for RTA offices in all the districts, he said. So far, some 23,000 cases have been filed against speed driving and M-Vallet being used by 25 lakh people through mobile phones in Telangana, he claimed.
Stating that Rs 33 lakh was offered to Bandlaguda RTA office for facilities, he said, adding that 1,200 new buses will be bought in future and priority will be given to Palle Velugu to connect villages. More number of buses will be pressed into service to remote and far-off places, he said.
The minister maintained that from August 2 last year till March 3 this year, the RTA provided online services, including 6.41 lakh learning licences, 6.13 lakh driving licences, 10.59 lakh registrations, 2.48 lakh fitness certificates, 1.70 lakh permits.
Online services, e-seva, mee-seva, debit and credit card services are being offered to avoid corruption and middlemen, he added. (NSS)
