Pradeep Chandra takes charge as new CS
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Government has appointed K. Pradeep Chandra, IAS, of 1982 batch, as new Chief Secretary. He succeeded Dr Rajiv Sharma, IAS, of the same batch, who retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on November 30. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appointed him as Special Advisor to the government.
In the afternoon, Pradeep Chandra took charge as Chief Secretary of Telangana State at the Secretariat. KCR hoped that the new CS will discharge duties to implement welfare schemes and development programmes for welfare of the society and development. Pradeep Chandra said he would give his best to keep up the expectations of the government.
Many top officials transferred
Meanwhile, the government has effected many transfers of senior IAS officials. Accordingly, MG Gopal was shifted to Revenue with the same designation of special chief secretary from Municipal Administration; Ajay Mishra as special chief secretary to Energy; Somesh Kumar to Revenue (Excise) from Tribal Welfare; Ashok Kumar as principal secretary to BC Welfare; Mahesh Bhagavath Datt Ekka as secretary to Tribal Welfare; B Venkateshwar Rao as secretary fisheries; Navin Mittal who is finance secretary is said to have got additional charge as secretary to Municipal Administration -NSS
