Power Star Expresses Solidarity With Telugu Film Industry

As the Telugu film industry writes an open letter to the Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao urging to deal the drugs case sensitively, actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan forwarded the letter through Twitter expressing his solidarity with the industry.

Hyderabad: As the Telugu film industry shot a letter to Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao urging him to deal with the drugs case sensitively, actor turned politician on Wednesday night forwarded the letter to the CM through Twitter.

Expressing his solidarity to Tollywood personalities, he shared the letter jointly written by Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Telugu Film Producers Council, Movie Artists Association and Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation.

While the letter expressed shock over the developments in the industry, it stated that it wanted the ongoing investigation to be successful. It not only assured cooperation to investigation authorities, the Telugu Film Industry also said that disciplinary action would be taken against those who proved to be involved in the drug trade.

Incidentally, the Telugu Film Industry which mumbled when celebrities like Puri Jagannadh were grilled shot the letter before the second list, allegedly consisting names of big heroes and those belonging to big families in the industry was made pablic.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which was formed after the police caught the prime accused Calvin Mascarenhas, based on the information they procured from his cell phone data, grilled 12 film celebrities including top actors like Ravi Teja, Charmy Kaur and some upcoming stars. It has completed the investigation earlier this week.

While many others from prestigious schools and also from software industry were identified and counseled, due to the leaks given by the Excise Department, the grilling of these 12 personalities caught the attention of people and made headlines for twelve days.

A total of 29 people were arrested in the drug racket, so far. This included Nigerian gangs and a Netherlander named Mike Kumminga, who was allegedly supplying drugs to software professionals. Meanwhile, people are curious about the second list consisting of top celebrities, which SIT had prepared.
