Ponnala flays BJP, TRS on promises
- 130th Anniversary of Congress celebrated
Hyderabad, December 29: Telangana Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah today criticized the BJP and TRS Governments for failing to implement their poll promises.
During a program on Sunday on the eve of 130 anniversary of founding of the Congress party, he accused the Centre and the State of trying to divert the minds of people in the name of welfare schemes. Though they came to power with some promises, they could not implement them on coming to power. The people are vary of their nefarious designs and watching the policies, he said. While the BJP promised to bring back black money stashed abroad in 100 days, the TRS Government did not keep its promises like crop loan waiver fully, housing for poor, pensions and ration to all, he alleged.
The BJP Government at the Centre holding power for seven months now should focus on black money issue, he demanded. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should stop mesmerizing people with his attractive speeches for winning elections in Jharkhand, should focus on welfare schemes, he said. The Congress leader also sought Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to address the problems of the poor and deprived classes. He demanded that all the eligible poor, old and deprived classes should get ration cards, land, houses and pensions.
