Ponguleti Demands Pre-Budget Meeting
Hyderabad: Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to conduct pre-budget meeting on the lines of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to introduce meaningful budget in the Assembly.
Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall here on Saturday, Ponguleti has asked KCR to conduct pre-budget meeting with peoples’ organisations, various sections of the people and all-party representatives to introduce a meaningful budget in the Assembly. He said that the Chief Minister has to prepare budget allocations following the suggestions made in the pre-budget meetings. He asked the Chief Minister to prepare a special budget for agriculture sector after taking opinions from the farmers’ unions. Demanding the state government to implement the Swaminathan Commissioner recommendations, Ponguleti asked the Chief Minister to set up Agriculture Commission immediately.
Questioning KCR to tell as to why he was not releasing funds to the farmers’ loan waiver scheme, fees reimbursement scheme, three acre land for daliths and double bed room scheme, Ponguleti reminded the Chief Minister’s statement that the state achieved 19.5 percent growth rate. He warned the TRS government saying that the Congress party will not keep quiet in case the state government increased power tariffs and RTC bus charges again. The Chief Minister was giving an impression with the review meetings that the state was developing in great manner and creating illusion that his rule was a feel good factor.
Reacting to Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s statement that the Congress will not come to power if one grown beards and whiskers, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that there was a full freedom in the Congress party and one has not to make comments to harm the party interests. One has to control his emotions with self control, he said and opined that one has to express their views in party forums and to high command and it was not proper to speak publicly. (NSS)
