Police To Curb Menace Of Drunk And Speed Driving On Outer Ring Road
Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Thursday said that the police personnel would be provided with more speed laser guns and breath analyzers to control the menace of speed driving on the outer ring road.
“Outer ring road is not speed riding track. It’s a facility for public,” said the DGP.
The Hyderabad police seem to have woken up to the accidents that are taking place on the road. Taking note of the accidents on the road due to drunk and speed driving.
The DGP was speaking at the launching of speed laser guns and supply of breath analyzers to police, organised at Bongloor tollgate at Adibatla.
The accidents on ORR are rising, as some youngsters are driving imported vehicles at high speed, and oftentimes after consuming liquor, Sharma pointed out.
These reasons are causing more and more accidents, Sharma added. He said that the Rachakonda and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates in Association with Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority would be more alert keeping these facts in mind.
Police personnel from Rachakonda Commissionerate were provided with three-speed laser guns and breath analyzers on Thursday for detection and implementation.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat and HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu also participated in the event.
