Police Seize Vehicle Smuggling Red Sanders Ingeniously
Tirupati: Red sanders worth Rs. 3 Crore have been seized by the Andhra Police even as smugglers were using an ingenious way for transporting it. They were transporting the contraband in a vehicle painted with Heritage Milk logo. Heritage is owned by the family of AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Police had a tip off that red sanders was sought to be smuggled through the forests in an ingenious way. When they spotted the vehicle with Heritage logo in the forest, they grew suspicious and tried to stop the vehicle. The vehicle drove away and smugglers threw stones in a bid to escape. But police continued the chase firing in the air.
Fearing that they will be caught, smugglers suddenly stopped their vehicle and absconded into the jungle. The vehicle was registered in Tamil Nadu, but an AP number plate was being used to smuggle red sanders. Both the vehicle and red sanders have been seized.
It may be recalled that police have taken into custody international red sanders smuggler Haji Nazar. Chittoor police had tried many times to catch Haji Nazar but he always managed to escape, before finally falling into their net.
