PM’s effigies burnt in Leftist protests
Three Left parties–SUCI, MCPI (U) and CPI (ML-New Democracy) – organized a rally and dharna at Basheerbagh cross roads protesting against the Modi government. Supporters of the three parties raised slogans against the Prime Minister and the BJP and burnt the effigy of Modi. Speaking at the rally, the leaders of the three parties lashed out at the Central government for unleashing hardships on farmers, daily wage labourers, petty shop keepers etc.
The left leaders also questioned as to why the government was not initiating criminal actions against many big industrialists, hawala dealers, businessmen and corporate houses that have been continuing their unscrupulous methods to protect their black money and ill-gotten wealth. They urged the Central government to initiate immediate steps to ease the difficulties of the common man who have been forced to stand in long queues before the banks for the past one week.
