PM Modi’s Cabinet Reshuffle, 9 Take Oath As MoS, 4 Elevated To Cabinet Rank

Four Ministers were elevated to the cabinet rank and 9 fresh faces inducted as MoS in cabinet reshuffle, 3rd in Modi’s Government, all from BJP.

New Delhi: Country’s new Defence Minister is Nirmala Sitharaman, second to hold the post after Indira Gandhi who held the department when she was PM. Suresh Prabhu was elevated as Commerce Minister and Dharmaendra Prasad will continue as Petroleum Minister and Abbas Naqvi as Minority Affairs Minister.

New Ministers of State who were sworn in today by President Kovind are  Virendra Kumar, Ananth Kumar Hegde, Gajendra Singh, Alphons, R.K.Singh, Hardeep Puri and Satyapal Singh. Two new faces are from Bihar and UP who are Aswini Kumar Choubey and Shiv Patap Shukla.

All these members are from BJP and NCP, AIDMK and JD (U) will be inducted into the cabinet in next couple of months as per sources.

Modi’s selection is on 4P’s, Passion, Proficiency, Professional and Political acumen as per sources for his vision of New India.

Reshuffle was urged after they came to know that vacancies should be filled and seniors should be relieved of additional portfolios.
