PM Modi to unveil 112ft Adi Yogi Statue on Feb 24th
Coimbatore: Isha foundation, source of Yoga, here, designed 112 ft Lord Shiva statue which will be unveiled by PM Modi on the eve of Mahashivaratri. Largest face on earth with symbolic liberation represents 112 ways to attain one’s ultimate objective through yoga, says Sadguru Vasudev who is founder of Isha foundation.
Nearly 1 million people are expected to take part in oath in teaching yoga with 100 people each in coming year touching 100 million by next Sivarathri, according to ISHA foundation.
Unveiling of the statue by PM will signal largest celebrations of Sivarathir in the country. This programme will be telecast live through 23 satellite TVs in 7 languages. This glorious face of Lord Shiva was included in incredible India by Ministry of Tourism.
Isha foundation is planning these faces of Adiyogi in 4 corners of the country with South in Coimbatore, North in Delhi, East in Varanasi and west in Mumbai in coming years.
According to founder Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev, it took more than 2.5 years to design and 8 months to build the 112 ft statue
Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in Madras High Court seeking to demolish the statue which was built on wet lands. HC issued notice to government expecting a reply before March 3rd. But the foundation condemned the PIL saying that baseless allegations are made saying that the foundation activities are within the purview of law.
Senior BJP leader, former Home Minister LK Advani will reach Coimbatore on 25th Feb and will stay for 2 days in Isha Foundation.
