People urged to volunteer for Swatch Bharat
Hyderabad: Calling upon people to become volunteers of Swatch Bharat, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu said on Friday, “We should evolve plans keeping in view future needs and not present needs”.
Addressing a function of “Swatch Bharat-Swatch Hyderabad” organised by GHMC at LB Stadium here, Venkaiah Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Swatch Bharat programme should convert into a public agitation to make the country “swatch”. Making the country “swatch” is not an easy task, first we should change our mindset and thinking, then only we can convert the country into a “Swatch Bharat”.
Earlier, addressing the function, Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya said the motive and aim of Swatch Bharat would become successful with the cooperation of the people.
It is inspirable slogan: KTR
Telangana IT and Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao said that “Swatch Bharat” is a inspirable slogan. He said Chief Minister KCR is effectively implementing the programme with same spirit. The GHMC is taking up various measures to keep the city clean and garbage-free. Efforts are being taken to segregate wet and dry garbage at the point of collection itself, KTR said.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said Swatch Bharat programme would be a success if we create awareness among the people. Detailing various steps taken by the CM for the development of Hyderabad city and make it as a garbage-free city, Talasani said the CM had allotted Rs 200 crores for this purpose. – NSS
